We haven’t always had the best selection of gluten free beer & microwbrew beer. Albany Beverage Corp. has come a long way. We are a third generation family owned beverage center dating back to 1955 when the owner’s uncle and grandfather started out on Wolf Road. That’s when Wolf Road was only two-lanes. Many locals from that generation remember the big man in green on the roof. He stood 25 feet over the top of the building and pilots would use him as a guide during low visibility nights.

Owner, Jim Schanz is very community-oriented. He served as a volunteer firefighter in Guilderland for 27 years and supports many organizations with fund raising activities like bottle drives and car washes. He allows the girl scouts to sell cookies in the store and has a year round collection bin for the Guilderland Animal Shelter.
